Fields of Mistria Completes Its Two-Year Early Access Run — 1.0 Brings Marriage, Children, and a Finished Story

Two years to the day after its Steam Early Access debut, Fields of Mistria launched version 1.0 on August 5, 2026. Developed by NPC Studio, the cozy farming RPG has spent two years building in public — adding systems, expanding the world, and refining the experience based on community feedback. Today, it's finished.

The 1.0 release delivers what the Early Access roadmap always promised as its destination. The most emotionally central addition is the full romance system: NPC heart levels now cap at 10, and players can propose, hold weddings, and start families. Two new Saturday Market vendors — Stillwell and Zorel — expand the social ecosystem of the town.

Progression-wise, the Renown level cap has been raised to 100, and the town repair storyline now has a full completion arc. That's a significant milestone for a game whose core loop is community restoration — you can actually finish rebuilding Mistria now. New dungeon quests, expanded museum content, a giant chicken mount for faster travel, and new cosmetics round out the feature set.

For players who've been following since Early Access, this isn't just a version number change. NPC Studio framed the update explicitly: "the game and storylines will be completable as originally envisioned." That's a statement of craft completion, not just a feature checklist.

1.0 also brings meaningful global accessibility improvements. Seven localization languages ship in beta: Chinese, French, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Spanish. The Early Access period earned Fields of Mistria a strong reputation as a thoughtful, visually distinct alternative to Stardew Valley — a warmer palette, deeper lore, more elaborate mine systems, and a village that feels lived-in rather than procedural.

The timing is deliberate. Launching on the exact two-year anniversary is a statement about how NPC Studio ran Early Access: on schedule, transparent, and community-driven. Not every early access game earns the label honestly. Fields of Mistria did.

If you've been waiting for 1.0 before starting, the wait is over.
